The Miscellaneous Rantings of Marie-Lizette
Unfortunately, I did not make the final table of Event No. 2 of the California State Poker Championship. In fact, I thought I busted 10th, but after checking Commerce Casino's live tournament report, I found that I actually exited in 11th place.
We had been told that play for Day 1 would end at 2:00 a.m. or when the top nine entrants qualified for the final table. However when 2:00 a.m. rolled around, there were still 13 players left, so the decision was made do go one more round. By this time I had managed to triple my weakened stack up to 67K, but with the limits at 5K/10K, I was not out of the woods by any stretch of the imagination.
