Unfortunately, I did not make the final table of Event No. 2 of the California State Poker Championship. In fact, I thought I busted 10th, but after checking Commerce Casino's live tournament report, I found that I actually exited in 11th place.

We had been told that play for Day 1 would end at 2:00 a.m. or when the top nine entrants qualified for the final table. However when 2:00 a.m. rolled around, there were still 13 players left, so the decision was made do go one more round. By this time I had managed to triple my weakened stack up to 67K, but with the limits at 5K/10K, I was not out of the woods by any stretch of the imagination.

Poker bots are banned from almost all gaming websites. While they may be increasingly common they are really just poker calculators that run on auto pilot continuously, calling, folding, and or betting based on preset scenarios. While hardly artificial intelligence, the advantage is that the software never tires and can play consistently for days on end in multiple games and sometimes even multiple sites, therefore giving the user an unfair advantage over legitimate players.
