Big signings for Pokernews Strategy and Jungleman12 Interview
Hey Guys,
Been awhile since I blogged and as usual I apologize. It's just been busy as hell to say the least. I signed 3 big high stakes pros last week to our team. They are UMD Tennis (hottest 100/200 NL player), MacDaddy34(veteran), and Urnotindanger2. Urnotindanger2 has been going nuts in the PLO nosebleeds. 8-10 tabling 100/200-200/400 and usually playing durrrr heads-up on six of the tables. If you haven't checked out the site here it is: www.pokernewsstrategy.com You can also become an affiliate too if you like http://strategy.pokernews.com/strategy_affiliates/new
Here's an interview I did a couple weeks ago with Jungleman12 http://www.pokernews.com/interviews/online-poker-spotlight-daniel-jungleman12-cates-6132.htm Supposedly he is going to take the durrrr challenge and from what I've heard he has beat up durrrr pretty bad over 17k hands. Should be interesting to watch!
Not much else is new. Two weekends ago I went to one of my best friends wedding in Columbus, Ohio and saw a bunch of my old tennis teammates from the University of Kentucky. To say it was fun would be an understatement!
This past weekend I saw Inception and it was a solid movie. I am curious to hear what people think the ending was.
Also, which is more exciting Lebron/Wade/Bosh or TO/Ochocinco?
Cheers,
RN

Besides working 24/7, I probably had the best time of my life this past Memorial Day weekend. It was my good friend Jason's bachelor party which was supposed to be held in Vegas with 20 of us. Unfortunately, it actually got cancelled the week before (long story short: his company went bankrupt). That obv wasn't going to stop me as I believe every man deserves a good bachelor party. I rounded up 3 of our close friends and said let's go up to UK(University of Kentucky) where he lives for the weekend. One of my good friends who was a swimmer at UK decided to drive up from Tampa to Atlanta Thursday night and we headed up to UK Friday morning. Instead of staying in UK and going out, we decided to go to Cincinnati and go out downtown. All of us have been out everywhere and anywhere at UK so we decided to do something different for once. We went to a rock bar at first which was pretty cool, but it was too loud for my taste. At least the bar tender knew his older brothers friend where she probably gave us 30 free drinks and 20 free shots, so it was a damn good start to the night. After that we headed to a club/bar called Mollys, I decided to get us a table with 4 bottles of champagne. I could tell Jason was having the time of his life as everyone was on the dance floor loving life. The only bad thing was I bought 60 shots that were basically pure sugar. FML! We drank them all, but everyone was dying the next morning. We all stayed up till 7AM, and my friend gets this idea for us to go to the Indy 500(single largest gathering in world or party you could say). Supposedly, the infield tickets only cost $20. We all go to bed around 7am and wake up at 11am the next morning for a long day. Luckily, his folks had tents and coolers at their house for us. We packed up everything very quickly and hit up Kroger to get all the supplies we needed. After a 2hr drive we reached the motherland. To say it was a huge party when we got there would be an understatement. It was car after car after car with tents everywhere, music blasting, people grilling out and boozing. It was mayhem at it’s finest and we were loving every second of it. After partying all day and night we got up to go the race and we were pretty worn out from the nights before that we stayed an 2hrs max then headed back to UK. It was probably one of the best times I have ever had in my life and everyone should experience it once. That Sunday night we had the girls come out(jasons fiancé, joes gf, and my good girl friend Emily) and we went to a bar called Cheapside. We had some margaritas, champagne, mojitos, and 100 shots(literally)… I know I probably sound like an alcoholic from this blog, but I promise you I am not. I just said I would make sure Jason’s bachelor party was the best time of his life as he was going through rough times. He still calls me everyday talking about how much fun it was, and I would have to say it was a blast!
Anyways, here is Gloria Balding interviewing Chad “LilHoldem954” Batista.
BTW, Go USA! World Cup is always such an awesome event! Hope your teams are doing well and GL at the tables!
Cheers,
Ryan
Some PLO, Keeneland Horse Races, PeachyMer Interview, and Busto-Robusto(Andrew Robl)
Hey Guys,
Apologies for the delay in the blog. I have been working on a bunch of projects(mainly pokernews strategy). Right now I have recruited 10 very big names from mtters-biggest cash game players in the game. I can't say right now who they are, but I am hoping by WSOP time it should be up and running. The site designs are basically done too. Right now the delays are from the video editing. I hope to build you guys a great site that you will gain valuable knowledge from! I'll try to keep you updated more.
I have been playing some 1/2-5/10 PLO just depending on the game selection. These past few months have been break even, but the past two months before I was on a nice little heater for about 15k. The main thing in PLO I have been doing and which I find very effective is not re-raising with AA outta the big or sb unless its HU. Usually I am preferring to flat now just in general. I have been 3 betting a ton with hands such as 5678-8910j etc... It throws a lot of people off as they think I have AA all the time. Also trying to control the tilt factor a little better as the variance is much higher. Also, I just found this out 10 mins ago..... Full Tilt has "Rush" poker tournaments. Three of the FTOPs are "Rush". I believe there's a $163 rebuy, $216 NL, and $240 PLO. Here is the complete schedule: http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/promotions/full-tilt-online-poker-series/schedule.php
I just did a recent interview with the mysterious "peachymer." Very nice girl and solid mtter, but everyone is questioning who she is, or is she a guy? Interview: http://www.pokernews.com/online-poker/interviews/online-poker-spotlight-mer-peachymer-brit-6127.htm
This past wknd was the first time I have gone out of town in 8 months to relax a little bit and do no work. I went back up to the University of Kentucky (Lexington) for the horse races at Keeneland and to see some old friends. When I arrived at my buddies house he had tequila shots awaiting right when I walked in the door. We had about three shots then one of my good girlfriends Emily met up with me and the guys. We went to a place called Bakers360 which is up on the 20th floor of the Chase building. My buddy Mark then decides to order more shots at the bar, something called an "apple sauce" which I don't recommend. We all got some fillets and I ordered us a nice bottle of wine, probably the best food I have had in awhile. After that we did some bar hopping, then ended up at some place called "The Loft" We got a table and the rest was history. To say the next morning everyone felt bad would be an understatement. We had to get up at 930AM to tailgate before the horse races. If you have never been to Keeneland I highly recommend it! You basically get up at 9AM get a bunch of your friends and tailgate outside on the grass. Then horse races start at 1230pm-5pm. All the guys are dressed up in suits and there are more gorgeous women then you can imagine in sundresses and flower hats. It was nice to take a wknd off for once.
Lastly, here is a good documentary on Andrew Robl.. http://robustothemovie.com/?page_id=53
GL to all of you!
FTOPs, Pnews Strategy, Sick Wknd in Vegas
Hey Guys,
I hope life/poker is treating all of you guys extremely well. Sorry for the delay in the blog. I have been super busy over the past couple of months.
Full Tilt's FTOPS are back in action again and rolling. The first event was yesterday and there are two more today.
Here is the complete schedule of all the events:
http://www.fulltiltpoker.com/promotions/full-tilt-online-poker-series/schedule.php
I know a couple blogs ago I talked about PokerNews Strategy. There were some difficulties but things have now been worked out. I am actually playing a big role in this project now, and I have recruited a bunch of big pros. The site will hopefully be up and running by mid-late March (no promises as there are always unforeseeable things). I will keep you guys updated though.
This past weekend I went out to Vegas for the Victory Poker charity event/launch. My cousin Mike, who has never been to Vegas, and my friend Bryan came out with me also. That Friday night well went to club XS with Zac (MavenVT's manager) and his girlfriend. We got a table poolside. This has to be the sickest club on the planet. You walk in and there’s a huge dance floor with booths. Then you go outside and it's like a football stadium with booths all above you. In the middle of the outside there is an island surrounded by water. On the island you have a bar, dance floor, and a freakin casino (craps, blackjack, roulette). I mean does life get much better?
Here are some pics/video of XS:
http://www.bachelorvegas.com/nightclubs/xs.html
I had to get up at 9 the next morning to work the charity event and set up the red carpet. It was a $1,050 buy-in with the money going towards Sharon Osbourne's Colon Cancer charity foundation. There were a bunch of celebrities and Playboy Playmates there. After the event ended, we headed over to our private room where we had, exactly what I didn't need, an open bar for 4 hours. I think I had about 30 shots with all the VP guys/celebs. We then decided to head over to the new club Vanity where we had a couple tables. My good friend Mike decided to order two $3,500 bottles of Dom Perignon Magnum - just ridiculous lol. It ended up being way to crowded so Mike, Bryan, Zach, some PokerNews people, and Shaun Deeb got a limo and head to club Jet. They wouldn’t let Deeb in since he wasn’t dressed appropriately, but once he whipped out $5k in cash they basically just shut up and let us in. We decided to get a table on the dance floor and order 3 bottles. I don't know wtf Shaun was thinking when he ordered Jack Daniels. I got us Goose/Jager, in what was a terrible decision on my part, as it put me over the top. After a good social night of dancing/drinking, I ended up crawling my way back to my room at the Hard Rock and ended up getting alcohol poisoning. For some reason the only time I love to go big is in Vegas, but can you blame me? Actually it's the first time in five years I’ve had it or thrown up, but fck it you live once. Sunday was disappointing though, as I wanted to go to the Palazzo with Mike and Bryan to watch the Super Bowl, but instead I laid in bed all day. At least I won $300 off Brian “tsarrast” Rast for taking the Saints, thanks Rastinator!
To say that this past weekend was great would be an understatement!
That’s all for now, best of luck to all of you at the tables!
PCA, Isaac Baron Interview, Buy Shares of Tony G
Hi Guys,
I don't know if you guys have been keeping up with the PCA, but our soon to be fellow blogger Ty Reiman just finished second in the PCA so congrats to him! For full results and payouts go here: http://www.pokernews.com/live-reporting/2010-PCA/main-event/
I just recently interviewed Isaac Baron this past wk, so if you haven't read it check it out: http://www.pokernews.com/online-poker/interviews/online-poker-spotlight-isaac-baron-6116.htm
There was one question that I asked Isaac that kind of shocked me:
Q: Which CardRunners pro is the craziest guy to party with? Please give us a story.
A: (laughs) Well I haven’t partied for a while with them but I would have to say Cole. For my 20th birthday I threw a party and Cole got it in his head that it would be a good idea to bet $100k on a hand of blackjack. He disappeared for the whole night and ended up sleeping on the doorstep of the suite I rented $100k poorer.
I actually find it pretty funny that Cole South is that big of a degen as I thought he was probably the most level headed one out of all the Card Runners guys I know, I guess not lol.
Also Mr. Tony G will be selling himself in event #8 in the Aussie Millions. Get a piece of the action on him here: http://chipmeup.pokernews.com/event/45471
As for non-poker related stuff, NYE was extremely fun as I had some of my best friends from Kentucky come down to Atlanta to party. I decided to treat everyone to a Cadillac limo, a VIP booth at Club Life, and couple bottles of Cristal which I never had until I was in Vegas three wks ago with Andrew Robl. It was good times to say the least! I assume everyone else watched all the NCAA bowl games and are now watching the NFL playoffs. I feel terrible for Colt McCoy as he probably dreamed of being in a championship game his whole life and then gets injured in the first ten minutes of the game. Hopefully he will do extremely well in the NFL. This past weekend I saw two movies; Avatar and Sherlock Holmes. I would definitely recommend to all of you to see Avatar in 3D as it an awesome movie. Sherlock Holmes was good, but to slow for my taste.
I hope all of you had a good Xmas/NYE, best of luck at the tables!
