SCOOP Main Event(low)

March 25, 2009

I just put up a posting into the SCOOP on CMU. I'm selling shares of 4% for $5. I have 20 available. I wonder how long it will take to sell out? The tournament itself it in less than a month so hopefully they will sell quickly....only time will tell.

CMU

March 24, 2009

So I recently joined a site called "CMU" and wow, what an expierence. I have actually enjoyed the website minus the few kinks that I haven't. For those who don't know, its basically a website where players can go and sell shares out of their buy-in. The one thing I noticed about the website is its 99% players and 1% buyers. It is beyond a struggle to sell on this website. In fact, when you start to struggle and try to post on the "shout box" they will threaten to ban you. Granted they dont want you posting every 5 seconds, but the shady people who don't like it complain to the "admin" in private. Its kind of petty if you ask me. From what I have seen, the website pulls in well over 1K a day easily. And while all this taxing is going on, you cant write freely in a spot that is the most obvious place to look. When they threaten to ban you, they send you to a "forum" page where half the page is asking for another chat box to sell, the other half is people complaining about "spamming" or "begging". To date, I have been a member for about 2 weeks, and already I've had to cancel over 10 events because I didnt sell one share, and 2 I didnt get a refund on because if one person buys, you cant get a refund. It almost seems the same people only invest in each other, with the very few who are willing to take a chance on someone. My first event I posted was my WSOP buy-in, and I couldnt sell 1% of it. After taking the advice of basically everyone to play smaller events. Even after posting some, still, no response. So whats a player to do instead of relying on luck to get a share sold? Well it involves getting banned....Or sent to a forum where they talk about banning people. So far I have met several nice people, ones who I would love to continue to communicate with and talk poker. On the other hand I have met several people who act like they own CMU and are just total douchebags. Overall. I like the site. Its a great idea. They just need to fix a few things, take in feedback rather than ruling with iron fists. The players are the reason the site runs, so leave it up to them, besides, they are dishing out money and have an opinion.

CMU rating on 1-10 scale

"6" - this on tentative. waiting for more info.....
I would like to thank the people I have met so far....

Ice, Z, Nvr, DMKY, Ryan, Max, Format, rk, Beni and a few others. You are the reason this site works. Thanks.
