Vote for the best blogger
This year, the 2012 World Blogger Championship of Online Poker (WBCOOP) consists of 30 tournaments running between February 23rd and March 4th - the biggest ever schedule since the WBCOOP began in 2005 and with the new PokerStars mobile app it means that you can play the WBCOOP from anywhere that you want!
As well as the individual tournaments and the $5,000 Main Event on March 4th, there are other prizes up for grabs including $5,000 for the WBCOOP Best Blogger, $1,000 for the Best Live Tweeter and various WBCOOP Leaderboard prizes.
Here is a list of 3 things that I would do if I somehow miraculously won the 2012 WBCOOP Best Blogger prize of $5,000:
1. Blog More!
I started blogging about poker in 2005 and at the end of every year I would start a new blog but I stopped doing that to focus on playing poker last year and as a result I haven't had a losing month since October 2010. One of my new year resolutions was to start blogging again rather than micro blogging via Twitter and Facebook. Why develop their internet domain names when I could write content for my blog here at DaMatrix.com instead?
Winning the Best Blogger prize would motivate me even more to keep blogging!
2. Play More!
I started keeping monthly records of my poker in 2005, and since then I have had 71 winning months out of 85 and 7 out of 7 winning years with a total profit well into 6-figures. Problem is that I believe I should have 85 winning months and a 7-figure profit!
The key to consistently winning every month is volume. The more you play the quicker you reach profitability and stay there.
Despite having a 6-figure profit from all poker over 7 years, it is all spread across over 100 online poker rooms that I have played on over the years:
My two biggest tournament wins on PokerStars are small at the moment but they both occurred last year:
$2,720 for 569/59,128 in the Sunday Million 5th Anniversary (March 6th, 2011)
$2,250 for chopping the PokerNews Western European Poker League Final (December 21st, 2011)
I played more tournament volume at PokerStars in 2011 than I had since I joined but still not as much volume as I would like especially since I didn't hit a really big score.
Therefore, I would use part of the $5,000 WBCOOP Best Blogger prize to play a lot more volume at PokerStars in order to reach proper profitability at the world’s biggest and best online poker 'stage'.
3. Travel More!
I have won several packages to live poker tournaments during my poker career which has allowed me to play poker in America, Australia, Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Spain and the UK.
One place that I have always wanted to travel to but haven't yet is South America. Being Italian, I love latin culture and latinas.
Thanks to Pokerstars there is another reason to visit South America: The Latin American Poker Tour! So maybe I would just spend the whole $5,000 Best Blogger prize on a trip of a lifetime to a LAPT event!
Good luck to everyone participating in WBCOOP 2012!
