Kickyourace updates and FTOPS
11/15/09 - 56th out of 9832 FTP FTOPS#24 Knockout. Sorry I haven't written in a while. I wasn't happy here from my result, I wanted the final table but looking back, I also didn't know we had this many people either. I signed up early for it and never looked at the 9832 people that were also in this event. I didn't. I only cared about making the final table which I didn't get. I did knock 5 players out of the event. My goal of course wasn't to knock any players out. I wasn't looking to risk my stack for a $20.00 knock out when a $150K prize was in front of you. But I did go after the short stacks when I had chips. I raise 2000 chips. Short stack shoves for $3000, I'm priced in to call and I was getting pretty lucky with random 2 cards. One guy even wrote me and said, "you raised with 2/5 off and knocked me out". Sure, short stacks are normally tight, unless they have a monster, they don't shove or call so my range opens a lot. Also, a lot of my flips held up, I was playing down to the river a lot rather then giving up on a missed flop just in case other players were just putting 2nd bets. The most surprising thing I was doing and getting results was min raising players or 3 betting then if I thought they were weak from watching them repeatly doing the same thing through the tournament. I'm not sure how someone playing 8 games at once will catch on to this type of tell and if you do play 8 games consider this in the future.
Chipmeup.com mentioned my run and thanks for the rail. The backers made a few dollars also. http://chipmeup.pokernews.com/news/ftopsXIV-wrapup. I did cash in 3 of the 5 FTOPS I played in. All my events were stakeback if I'm correct so any cash, the backer made money. At the least, if I cashed, I paid the staker back his share of his stake. I think the last time I played FTOPS, I bubbled one of the 6 I played, misplayed another one that cost me a cash and never got going in the others. One thing I like about Chipmeup.com is the conversation we as players have. I don't see us looking to tear each other up but rather help each other grow in our sport. This is something I don't see a lot of on other staking sites.
The month of November seems to see a change in my style or consist of changing of my style to suit the tables and players and the results and cashes are starting to add up. I'm playing more SNG's also and seeing a positive ROI for those also. Still a ways to go to where I'm happy with my play (and I'm hard on myself regardless) but good to see progress. Shoutouts to Nomaddman, LilPokerGirlie, Telefonkiosk, Mttsmasher, Fooge (always behind you Fooge), Craiggray, Thomas Bihl who didn't get mentioned but cashed a lot in the FTOPS and final tabled a non FTOPS HORSE event. I got to watch his events and he played solid but sometimes the cards don't go your way even with the best hand and he had the best hand almost everytime. Rwestover was also a big support in the last few months as we pointed out mistakes we were making and adjusting to not do them again. If I didn't mention your name, with over 100 active players at chipmeup.com, everyone was pulling for all players through FTOPS events.

Winner of the ring won one of the events from the 2008/2009 Circuit event at Harrahs, Atlantic City. Ring is for sale. I've never seen this ring for sale before. Ring is made of Gold/Silver and has a diamond on Top. Would make a great wall item for a poker room or bar promoting poker for it's customers.
Borgata Deep Stack on Sunday
I'm heading down to the Borgata for the three day deep stack event on Sunday. This is a chipmeup.com sponsored event and if I get my phone back from Tmobile in time, I'll be tweeting hands and comments. The event is a $560.00 event to enter, offers 20000 chips to start, rounds at 45 minutes, and we start at 25/50 for blinds. There will be a day one and a day one a to rebuy in on Monday if you get knocked out on Sunday. There is also a satellite at 4:00pm for those that want that one last shot to aim for Monday.
Gl to my backers and to me. I'm looking for big bucks!
It's just a dream but I get to live it once and a while
I'm all about staking. I stake on a scale affordable to me and also ask to be staked, on a much larger scale affordable I hope to others. I've asked for stakes to $10K events in the past and received funds to play WPT and WSOP main events. Thanks to Golden Palace, PokerDogz, and Chipmeup.com for that backing in the past. Well, I asked someone to stake me to 200K worth of tournaments in return for millions of people to watch me and sell advertising against that stake. In two weeks and with a presentation, I'll know if a major network will back me to a LOT of upcoming tournaments for a new reality show, about a poker player that wants to win a WSOP Bracelet and his quest to get there. Follow me at twitter at kickyourace or Scott Neuman on Facebook for updates.
Ask and maybe you'll receive.
Never hurts to ask. What's the worst that can happen? You get no for answer? No is what you start with. Not what you finish with.
Best wishes. Live your dreams.
Kick.
Kickyourace gets his ace kicked at the 2009 World Series of Poker ME.
850/6500 2009 World Series of Poker.
Well, if you followed Pokernews.com or my tweets, I’m out of the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event. I was backed by Chipmeup.com. I played QQ against 7/9 off. Blinds were 1500/3000 400 antes. I called a raise of 8200. I was playing a Loose and Agressive player and with this raise, I know I’m playing a loose hand and not big pairs or aces. I’ve been playing the guy for 8 hours now and he enters a LOT of pots and changes up his raises depending on the strength of his hand. Excellent player by the way but this is one tell he had and he LOVES to bluff with air. I’m last to act and call to see if he hits the flop hard. He’ll also know that I play premium hands and that I’m a Tight and Aggressive player. His flop bet of 25000 tells me no, he didn’t hit it hard on a flop of 3/6/7 with two clubs and wants to end the end with this overbet, but he’ll continue any bet on the flop regardless. I’ve got a Q of clubs in my hand. I reraise to 71K all in. He snap calls (did I miss read him, did he have AA/KK/AK??? But no, he had the 7 with the 9 kicker off suit. He has a backdoor straight plus the 7 or 9 for a win. Any 7 or 9. Turn is a 5 of clubs and now he has any 7/8/9 to win but not a club or I get a flush on the river. River is an 8 of spades and he gets the straight sending me walking. This hand would have doubled me up and by the turn, if I just call the flop, I’ll be all in so it was my all in hand no matter what I do. I waited two hours to make this hand and try and trap him for a double up. Sometimes it just doesn’t happen. If I hit this hand, I’d have cashed without an issue in the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event.
Oddest hand I had was AA against AA and a/K against a/k. Bet them all to the turn or river and chopped them both times.
So my finish for Chipmeup.com as a backed player was 850/6500. Not a horrible run but I didn’t cash and I’m very disappointment for my sponsor. I really thought I’d have a deep run after doing well in day one and two ending the days with 71K and 114K. I was only all in twice and the 2nd one got me.
