Lunar Eclipse December 2010!

December 21, 2010

Last night or rather this morning...whatever you call it! Was the Lunar Eclipse! What makes this lunar eclipse especially special is that it's the first time in a LONG LONG time (more than your lifetime for sure) that the lunar eclipse fell on the same time as the Winter Solstice! To some its a marvel, to others its like listening to a foreign language...believe me it was a bit of foreign language to me too until I read up on it which then reminded me of what I was SUPPOSE to learn in Astronomy class during college.

It was a bit cold and late but that definitely didn't stop me from going outside! Just gazing upon it, nothing to think about...I started to realize and have one of those moments! You know one of those moments where you're like...man what truly amazing event! And then further thinking, this world...human life ...simply amazing!

Of course I took a picture w/ my point and shoot camera! If you want to see an amazing photo...look no further!

Well, if that wasn't satisfactory...I suggest you type in 'Lunar Eclipse 2010' in google. =)

Superstar Showdown

December 19, 2010

Today is the debut of the Superstars Showdown! The gist of it is that recently signed pro Isildur1 will be playing a heads up match w/ other highstakes players for 2500 hands on 4 tables at 50/100 at either PLO or NL. So today's first match, Isildur1 is going to be playing against Isaac Haxton also known as 'philivey2694' on pokerstars at NL holdem.

I'll be railing this as I play my Sunday MTTs today so it should definitely be a fun watch! Reason I say a fun watch is because both of these players love to put the chips in the middle so depending on who can catch the momentum, I expect it to be a very aggressive match with someone winning a nice chunk.

If I had to predict who I think would win? I think it's pretty close but I'm going to go w/ Isildur1 on this one. He seems to be one of the biggest momentum players out there and if he can get it going his way then it probably isn't turning back.

The Horse Show…Cavalia!

December 13, 2010

A couple of days ago on Saturday the 11th of December, I went to watch a show! I’m not sure whether this show is actually considered a Cirque du Soleil show or not but this show was created by the founders of Cirque du Soleil and after watching it I can confirm it definitely is of the same caliber. The theme of the show? Horses! I must say I didn’t exactly have the most expectation for the show but I was definitely impressed after watching it. My gf and I did learn something, that she might be allergic to horses! Seems the air build up got to her a little bit but nevertheless, she still had an awesome time.

For this show I got the special tickets where you get food before the show, desserts and coffees during intermission, and a special surprise of getting to check out the horses after the show! Well turns out I missed the 1st part before the show! The show was taking place in San Francisco, and I set my GPS to go to 4th street which returned me the result ’4th str/ave’. Well seeing that was my only option, I gladly went there. Turns out it was the wrong address as 4th avenue and 4th street are totally different and on opposite sides of San Francisco. What sucked was that there was tons of traffic so we ended up getting to the show right before it started!

The horses walking around at the end of the show!

Tents!

I must say, I never was a big horse fan but after watching the show I definitely want to try and do some acrobatics myself on these horses! Maybe I should stick to horseback riding but for some reason I feel like I’m going to end up hurting myself somehow! So maybe I’ll stick to none of the above!

After the show, we got to go see the horses! Each had their own unique names and the horses’ hair was braided. High maintenance haired horses, I must say! I’ve included a video of one of the horses too!

Renato the horse!

Me with the horse!

Horses eating hay after a tiresome but awesome performance! (I said grass in the video but realized it’s hay soon after! haha)

Poker Update!

December 07, 2010

So ever since my downswing, I’ve been playing a LOT of poker! My logic? Well when you get knocked down, get back up and keep fighting! hahaha. Well I definitely, see it as a learning experience and it only makes me try harder! I’ve definitely been putting in some heavy sessions and I’m quite satisfied with my play as of late.

I took my foot off the gas pedal on the online MTTs for a short bit to give my cash games a little bit of extra attention but I imagine I’ll be back on it soon to prepare for my live events coming up! First stop in early January is the PCA in the Bahamas! This is truly one of the best live events to go to and one of my most enjoyable each time I come. Then I’ll be flying back home for a day or two break…only to fly to Australia! Yup I’m going to the Aussie Millions with the pokernews strategy fellas. I’ve never been to Australia before but I hear great things on how beautiful it is over there. I could google some images but I rather experience and see it w/ my own eyes than be spoiled! Although the flight won’t be so fun given how long it takes to get there, I’m excited! Hopefully, I can go on a safari! That will pretty much take care of the majority of my January as I’ll be flying back in the beginning of February. Until then…gotta look forward to Christmas!
